EVENT : OPEN GARDENS APRIL EVENTS
17 -18 April
The Laurels – 42 Piccadilly Road, Crafers
What started as a few well-established rhododendrons 60 years ago, is now a beautiful Hill’s environment full of historic and unusual trees and shrubs, many putting on a beautiful show of autumn colour. Extra activities include a guided walk with gardener Jenny and a talk by the acclaimed architect.
Stangate House – 3 Edgware House, Aldgate
Covering 4.5 acres, the garden contains a wonderful collection of mature ornamental trees, planted in the 1940’s all of which present a spectacular display of autumn leaves every April. Of great significance is the huge old English oak tree, Quercus robur, around 160 years old and is recognized as the second oldest oak in Australia!
